Payment arrangement for UTS debt to government

UTS1WILLEMSTAD - The telecommunication company UTS has made a payment arrangement with the government regarding the money owed. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha during the weekly press conference of the Council of Ministers. The Minister was discussing the financial state of the government.

The 37 million guilders owed by the public company in dividends was one of the bottlenecks for the Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT): the amount is on the budget, but the CFT found it uncertain whether this money would actually be paid.

According to Gijsbertha, there are now clear agreements with the telecom company and they are going to pay the 37 million in instalments.
