Pilot project with Ravens ‘successful’

RavenWILLEMSTAD – Recently there was an evaluation of the pilot project “Eye in the sky”, in which the unmanned aircraft Raven was deployed to literally help with the fight against crime from the sky. All parties involved, the police, the Public Prosecution, the Navy and the Army were positive about the use of the Ravens, which was made available by the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

The evaluation has shown that the use of the Raven has given more insight to the safety problems in neighborhoods and other areas. The deployment has also led to time savings for the police action on the ground. In addition, images of the Ravens eventually led to various arrests. Also, the evaluation showed that cooperation between Defense, the police, the prosecution and the local civil aviation authorities was excellent. Justice and police will jointly decide on the further need for unmanned aircraft in Curaçao in the context of the fight against crime.
