Political parties did not manage to convince court to allow participation in elections

KranshiWILLEMSTAD – The political parties Rosa Eleva, Partido Koperativista i Patriotiko, Partido Reskate Integral Korsou and the veteran Frente Obrero (FOL) did not manage to enforce their participation in the upcoming elections through the court

The Court of Justice announced that the application for the admission to participate in the elections has been rejected.

According to the foursome, the first round of elections, or the so-called primaries, did not have enough voting locations and this is contrary to Article 19 of the Elections Decree. The Court ruled otherwise: “Considering the location, in relation to the period in which the voters were able to cast their support and the limited number of required supporting votes for participation in the elections, limiting number of voting locations to six does not constitute a substantial obstacle to a political party to participate in the elections.”

Nor, the Court adds, if there are considerably more new political parties that have requested participation.
