Pre-trial case ‘Dubnium’ on May 3; former MFK Minister is main suspect

jacinta-constancia-3WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 1.30 pm, a pre-trial session will take place in the "Dubnium" case. It concerns the investigation into the purchase of so-called surgical face masks for the benefit of the Stichting Bureau Ziektekostenvoorzieningen (SBZV) in 2012. The surgical face masks were never delivered to SBZV, but were paid.

SBZV then filed a report with the police.

It is not about a civil case of non-compliance with contract obligations, but it is about the fact that through shadowy constructions a large amount of money from the public finances has ended up with persons who were not entitled to it and that criminal offenses have been committed.

On May 3, the Public Prosecutor will ask the judge to conduct further investigations in the case by means of witness and suspects. At that moment, the lawyers can also make their investigation wishes known on behalf of the suspects.

Several witnesses were heard in this case. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) Curaçao has summoned the following persons: A.J.J.S. (Curaçao, 1963), J.V.A.C. (Curaçao, 1973), G.H.J.B. (Curaçao, 1971) and A.A.M. (Curaçao, 1971).

The accusations are swindling and embezzlement and forgery in writing and money laundering.
