Premier Betrian meeting with Sint Maarten’s government

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Stanley Betrian will visit St. Maarten today for an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams. The ministers will meet on bilateral agreements and will also talk about obstacles between Curaçao and Sint Maarten.

Restoring relationships with partners within the Kingdom of the Netherlands is one of the key issues the Interim Government is dealing with.

Other actions include:

  • Bring back peace between Curaçao and other countries in the Kingdom
  • Initiate measures to promote democracy in Curacao
  • Initiate a screening law, the concept has been delivered to the Parliament
  • Initiate measures to bring back confidence in the finance and economy sector of Curacao and within the Kingdom and abroad.

To achieve this the Interim Government will sit around the table with the social partners in various National Dialogues to exchange views on urgent issues They will also explain to Parliament what the measures are.
