Prime Minister will not act against Venezuelan Consul yet
WILLEMSTAD – The Prime Minister of Curaçao, Ivar Asjes will not act against the new Venezuelan Consul. She recently called on the people of Curaçao to sign a petition against President Obama after the U.S. sanctioned some of the South American country’s government officials.
In a press statement the Prime Minister says that other countries are not allowed to influence the Curaçao people against another country.
But Asjes still refuses to call the consul on the carpet. Any meeting would moreover be the first time, as the new Consul has not yet presented her credentials to the government.
This is common when accepting a new post.
