Prime Minister will speak on behalf of the Governor during opening Parliament

WILLEMSTAD - Demissionary Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte will replace Governor Frits Goedgedrag tomorrow during the opening ceremony of the parliamentary year. This is done at the request of the Governor himself, in view of the upcoming elections.

Article 54 of the Constitution of the country Curaçao describes the Governor or a representative on behalf of the governor, can give a statement of the policy of the government for the coming year shows. In 2010, at the opening of the parliamentary session of the Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles, the then Prime Minister also replaced the Governor during the ceremony.
