PS, MAN and MFK want explanation CCTV project
WILLEMSTAD - The CCTV project by the Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro is creating considerable political unrest. Besides the coalition party Pueblo Soberano (PS), now the MAN and MFK requested an emergency meeting about this project.
The parties want a detailed report on the procedures to be followed by the placement of the cameras to monitor busy and touristy areas.
Especially Finance Minister José Jardim will be discussed; several politicians believe that he should have organized a public tender for the purchase of the cameras.
The cameras and associated equipment and training have been purchased from a Chinese company for 3 million dollars. On March 19, Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro put his signature to confirm the agreement.
