Pueblo Soberano plans to submit 80/20 Law to the Council of State
WILLEMSTAD - Pueblo Soberano remains committed to the 80/20 bill proposal. This despite the fact that both the Advisory Board as Governor Lucille George-Wout rejected the bill because it is discriminatory.
Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare Ruthmilda Larmonie Cecilia disagrees and is now investigating whether the Council of State in the Netherlands could give an opinion.
According to the 80/20 law is very simple, according to Larmonie. 80 percent of the number of employees in companies must be of local origin. It could be a foreigner but with legal working permit and established here on the island.
It’s a pet peeve of the Pueblo Soberano (PS) party and they have been trying to push it for years. They want it to become law as soon as possible. The minister sees is as her duty to make sure this happens before the new government takes office.
