PVV: ‘Send Antillean Criminals back to their country’

Sietse FritsmaTHE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - It should be possible to send Antillean and Aruban criminals in the Netherlands back to Curacao, Aruba and St. Maarten. A Member of the Dutch Parliament for the radical party PVV is currently working on a bill to make this possible.

The proposal of PVV MP Sietse Fritsma follows a plan made by former VVD minister Rita Verdonk (Integration) in 2007. However, this was limited only to young Antilleans and Arubans. The bill Verdonk has never reached the finish line.

According to Fritsma’s plan everyone from the Antilles or Aruba should be expelled, not just young people. If a person has been residing in the Netherlands for a short time then even a small penalty should be sufficient to return him or her back. Legally this is possible, says the PVV MP.

According to Fritsma Antilleans criminals cause major problems in the Netherlands. They are over-represented in crime statistics.
