Report Central Bank not yet presented to Parliament

Central BankWILLEMSTAD - The report made by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) has not yet been presented to parliament. This was confirmed by the President of Parliament Marcolino 'Mike' Franco. Finance Minister José Jardim had indicated two weeks ago that an expurgated version would be sent within 14 days to the parliaments of Curaçao and St. Maarten.

Jardim had indicated, during the weekly press conference on Thursday, October 16, that a modified version of the report would be sent to parliament within 14 days and that the document would also become public. But this has not happened yet, according to the President of Parliament.

The PwC research focused on identifying and analyzing factors affecting the functioning of the CBCS or otherwise have harmed the reputation of the highest financial institution of both islands. It also focused on factors that could have harmed the confidence in the CBCS. They also gave certain recommendations. All this was indicated two weeks ago by the Minister of Finance during the press conference.
