Rosaria wants government to publicly inform about Venezuela
WILLEMSTAD – Venezuela is in a financial crisis and there is food and medicine shortages. The islands near Venezuela are cautioned for an influx of refugees. This is why the leader of the coalition party PAIS, Alex Rosaria wants the government to inform the public about the situation in the South American neighboring country.
The Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro proposed in June this year that the coastal monitoring should be intensified. The Coast Guard is responsible for this task and should watch for illegal immigrants trying to enter the island. The Coast Guard carries out regular inspections along the coast and has been very successful recently.
The Minister also indicated that he has appointed a task force to monitor the situation in Venezuela and to keep the government informed.
