Ruling party PS against MCB as government’s private banker
WILLEMSTAD – The current coalition consisting of Pueblo Soberano (PS), PAIS, PNP and Independent Member of Parliament, Glenn Sulvaran have yet another issue to solve. The ruling party PS has positioned itself against the decision of the Council of Ministers to appoint the Maduro & Curiel’s Bank as the private banker of the government.
Leaders of the PS party voiced their disagreement arguing that the Council of Ministers should have appointed the PSB Bank as the government’s banker. This bank is owned by the government and as such it belongs to the people.
Sources indicate that there is a heavy discussion between the PS, PAIS and Independent MP, Glenn Sulvaran, who is politically responsible for the Minister of Finance, Dr. Jose Jardim. It was Jardim who announced the decision. PAIS and Sulvaran explained to PS that the whole process of choosing a new banker was completely transparent.
