Schotte: ‘OM’s survey public companies unfounded’

Gerrit SchotteWILLEMSTAD – According to former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte there are no grounds for an inquiry into possible mismanagement at three public companies, Aqualectra, Curoil / Curgas and Curacao Oil Refinery (RdK).

The prosecution wants to hold such a survey at the urging of civic movement Akshon Sivil, which filed a complaint almost a year ago. In support of the application, the public prosecution (OM) has explicitly called Schotte's name at the Joint Court. During his term as Prime Minister, he was in charge of the so called energy column.

Schotte says that Akshon Sivil should not be part of the legal survey. “They are not shareholders, certificate holders nor do they have any contract with any of the public companies. The OM is uncritical and is guided by the Akshon Sivil and also the objective of the request would not fall within the legal survey,” the former Prime Minister believes.
