Schotte: “Problems everywhere in the Kingdom”
WILLEMSTAD – The political leader of the opposition party MFK, Gerrit Schotte reacted yesterday on the problems surrounding the government formation on the island. Schotte explained that it is remarkable that the entire Kingdom is facing problems with governments.
Last week the government of Bonaire lost its majority in the island council. Currently, the island is without a government.
The Dutch government also does not have a majority in parliament. Jacques Monasch resigned from his party PvdA to become and Independent MP. This means that the Dutch government is in crisis and should either find another coalition partner or call elections.
Sint Maarten has problems with its candidate ministers. And here in Curaçao, the parties are still struggling to form a government.
