Sehos has trouble attracting medical specialists
WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s General Hospital (Sehos) is struggling to find medical specialists to come work on the island. This is according to the Medical Director of the institution, Franke Scheper.
There is already a shortage of doctors and this problem now threatens to become bigger. Among the causes are the lower salaries paid here. There are also not enough locals being trained as doctors.
Sehos is not allowed to hire more independent medical specialists. New doctors must be employed by the hospital.
