Serious corruption charges Police Corps after investigation
WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro has commissioned the Government Accountants Bureau (SOAB) to perform a fact finding investigation into the large sums of money owed to providers (companies providing services or products) by the Police Corps. There are also cases of suspicious transactions within the force, which have been reported by these same providers.
The SOAB investigation has been done on transactions which took place between the years 2011 and 2014. The SOAB has discovered, through their investigation, that there are serious deviations from the rules of accounting, which took place in a structured manner. The government institution also learnt that some civil servants, who are responsible for these deviances, have family ties or close relations with the providers in question.
SOAB has also learnt that these government employees have accepted favors, benefits and gives without reporting these, which is against the law. Those responsible for these deviances did not assume their responsibility under the circumstances in which these actions took place.
