THE HAGUE - Six in ten Dutch people want to get rid of Curaçao, Aruba and St. Maarten. If it were up to them, all ties with the former West Indies will be broken because of the many financial problems, corruption and mismanagement on the islands.
This is according to a poll by Maurice de Hond among 2000 people. Especially the PVV voters want to break ties with the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. They indicated that the Netherlands does not have a duty to care for the islands anymore.
