Soon new panorama in Otrabanda – Aqualectra dismantled
WILLEMSTAD – Recently the utility company Aqualectra installed a 300-ton capacity crane at its plant in Mundu Nobo, Otrabanda. The company started with the dismantling of the highest points of the obsolete machinery, the three towers.
This coming Monday the company will officially start with the project to dismantle these three towers. The Minister who is responsible for the company, Dr. Jose Jardim will officially initiate the project. The dismantling project will take about two weeks to complete.
According to Aqualectra, once these three towers are dismantled we can start saying goodbye to a panorama that has been part of the city since the beginning of the 20th century. These towers indicated were the island’s utility company is located.
The project of dismantling the plant was actually started last year. Several of the older machinery has already been dismantled. According to the company, the entire plant will be gone in 2017.
