Subsidized organizations no confidence after AMFO

AMFOWILLEMSTAD – Subsidized organizations in Curacao are not effective. This is according to a report from research company ECORYS.

ECORYS did a research on the effects of co-financing organization AMFO, which since 2002 gave money to small organizations for social projects.

The Netherlands would transfer almost 25 million guilders into the fund annually. ECORYS concludes that most of the organizations are working against each other, whereby projects to supposedly eradicate poverty would have less or no result.

Reda Social Curaçao and the Sint Maarten SMDF will take over the financing task of the AMFO organization. But the organizations on the islands have little confidence in these two entities.
