Supreme Electoral Council confirms election date
WILLEMSTAD – The Supreme Electoral Council officially announced that the elections this year will be held on September 30. The deadline for submission of electoral lists of the various parties, as previously reported, is August 8.
Citizens that have voting rights and want to vote in the upcoming elections must be registered at the Registrar’s Office. The registry list will be closed on July 9. This means that a citizen that is not registered before that day will not be able to vote.
Political parties that do not have a seat in parliament must gather support of at least 870 citizens with voting rights on August 20 and 21. Only then are they allowed to participate in the elections.
