Tax Revenue for the first three months of the year disappointing

JardimWILLEMSTAD – In the first three months of this year, the tax revenue from Curaçao lagged behind the projections in the budget. Especially the salary tax was disappointing: 9.8 million guilders lower than expected.

In the national budget for 2016 the revenues have been estimated higher than the realized revenues of last year. The Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT) wants to know from the Minister of Finance Dr. José Jardim how this happened.

The CFT wants the Minister to explain the setbacks and the measures taken there to still reach the projected tax revenue this year.
