The Court of Audit must investigate application best accounting practices since 10/10/10
WILLEMSTAD – The Parliament of Curaçao has unanimously adopted a motion in which the Court of Audit is asked to investigate all the cases where the government has deviated from the best accounting practices since the new political status on October 10, 2010.
The motion was filed by coalition partner PAIS, containing an amendment to a proposal made by opposition party leader Gerrit Schotte of the MFK. Schotte had requested an investigation into public tenders, subsidies and policy on consultancy in the period till June 19this year. That is now revised to August 11.
The motion was tabled at a meeting about the purchase of the security cameras at the Chinese company Inspur. Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro departed from the best accounting practices by not holding a public tender and for many MPs this was and is unacceptable.
