The Hague to Willemstad: “Curaçao needs to enter into cooperation agreements with Cuba”
WILLEMSTAD – Washington and Havana are working for the betterment of their relations. Curaçao and Aruba should be proactive by way of cooperation agreements with Cuba to avoid being left behind when the American tourists rediscover Cuba.
This is basically what the new Dutch Ambassador to Cuba, said during his visit to Curaçao.
This was also the message given by the Dutch Prime Minister during his recent visit to Panama for the Summit of the Americas.
The Netherlands has a formal presence in Cuba for years now and they indicate that through cooperation agreements that both Dutch islands can complement each other with Cuba. Especially after the island opens its doors there will be many who would want to see what kind of benefits, there are for them after 50 years of economic boycott.
