Thode wants to hear five witnesses relating to his verdict
WILLEMSTAD – The court has decided yesterday to put the case of appeal of the Member of Parliament for the opposition party MFK, Amerigo Thode on hold.
The case was supposed to take place yesterday, but the defense of the lawmaker wants to hear five witnesses.
Thodé was previously sentenced to a suspended fine for violation of professional secrecy. He had made recordings of a closed parliamentary consultation with the Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT).
On Thodé’s list are the president of the CFT, Age Bakker, and several people from the political party PAIS, including the President of Parliament, Marcolino Franco. The leader of the opposition party MAN, Hensley Koeiman is also on the list. PAIS leader Alex Rosaria and party member Alison Manuel are also included.
The court will decide on April 20 if they witnesses may be heard.
