Two weeks to work out details government agreement
WILLEMSTAD - In two weeks, the details of the coalition agreement should be worked out. This was announced by Kenneth Gijsbertha, who was appointed by the Governor to form a government for Curaçao. Gijsbertha expects that by the end of November there will be a new functioning government support by a small majority in parliament.
The Governor has asked Gijsbertha to continue as ‘formateur’. Governor Lucille George-Wout indicated in a letter to Gijsbertha that clear agreements should be made in a coalition and that the cabinet should be made up of individuals who are willing and able to give a decisive and balanced implementation of the coalition agreement.
The Governor emphasizes that stability is important. The island needs a stable government that will finish its four-year term.
