Unions oil refinery announce strike
WILLEMSTAD - Trade unions of the Isla refinery PWFC and Apri are on a collision course with the government and the multidisciplinary project team.
The unions have announced actions at the refinery gate today. They argue that the government and the project team do not adhere to the agreements made. The unions stress that it is not their intention to stop operations at the refinery, but to increase the pressure on the government.
According to the unions, it was only last week when it became clear to them that the Project team is conducting separate negotiations on Bullenbaai and the oil refinery. And that is, according to the unions, against the agreement.
All the gates of the oil refinery are blocked, which is also causing major problems for traffic.
