Update: Dismissal ‘Menki’ Rojer withdrawn by Asjes

AsjesWILLEMSTAD – The Prime Minister of Curaçao, Ivar Asjes withdrew the order to dismiss the public employee, Meendert “Menki” Rojer, who has been employed at the Department of Human Resources for over 27 years.

Asjes’ decision was made after he received counsel from the government legal representative, Mr. Glenn Camelia.

The case “Rojer” caused quite the fuss in the media last week because of the tension it brought between the Prime Minister and his party, especially the Members of Parliament representing his party. The faction leader, Mac Cijntje even stated that there is no confidence in the Prime Minister.

Menky Rojer is also a radio commentator who highly criticized the Prime Minister for now following the same vision of the late leader of the Pueblo Soberano (Sovereign People), Helmin Wiels who was assassinated on May 5 of last year.
