Update: Minister of Justice – Search at the Admittance Organization

Quincy-GirigorieWILLEMSTAD - The National Investigation Team together with the Police Corps searched the offices of the Curaçao Admittance Organization. The Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie indicated that the Director of this organization has been arrested in connection with a criminal investigation within the government service.

The Minister did not want to comment much about the investigation and will leave this to the Public Prosecution (OM).

The OM revealed this morning that two persons were arrested on suspicion of official corruption forgery and abuse of their function. This in connection with residence permits and the applications.

One of the suspects is the head of the Admissions Organization, the 51-year-old Estheresther-cheri Cheri and the other her 47-year-old employee. According to the OM, a number of searches have been conducted in a number of offices within the premises of the Admittance Organization itself.

The Minister says that a process has been initiated within the judicial chain to ensure that organizations are 'clean' from the inside. He also indicates that more organizations within the government will be investigated.
