USONA: “No request for more money construction new hospital”
WILLEMSTAD – According to the financing entity USONA, Sona, the contracting party, which has a so-called management agreement with the government is committed to achieve a new operational hospital. Sona has not made any request for additional financial resources for this project.
Sona has reported that there are excesses and solutions put forward for the government to cover those, but no request for extra money," said Usona spokesman Jacques Heide. According to the executive organization, the media coverage on the level of the cost of building the new hospital in Otrabanda, or the Hospital Nobo Otrobanda (HNO) is incorrect."The construction will cost a little bit more than was budgeted, but not as much as is suggested in the media.”
The risks surrounding the building, such as the extra work, the infrastructure detour and delay claims, had already been identified and quantified. It concerns respectively 17 million guilders for the shift plan, 11 million guilders for rearrangement of the Hamelberweg (road on the west side of the old hospital) and a delay claim of Ballast Nedam of 33.4 million, for a total of over 60 million guilders.
