Van Raak asks again about Curaçao gambling
THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD – The Dutch MP for the Socialist Party (SP), Ronald van Raak once again asks the attention of the Dutch government for the gambling business in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. According to the Member of the Lower House in the Dutch parliament, who is also a member of the standing committee on Kingdom Relations, there are millions of dollars being laundered through casino and lottery owners Francesco Corallo, Robbie dos Santos, Rudy Pizziolo and Cocochi Prince.
Earlier Van Raak asked the Dutch government about this problem, but was told that this is an internal matter for the Caribbean islands. According to the Minister of Kingdom Relations, Ronald Plaster, the Dutch government cannot intervene in the internal affairs of the islands.
Van Raak relies on the dossier on the gambling industry that recently appeared on the Dutch news site the Knipselkrant Curaçao.
According to that website, the gambling industry in Curacao is larger than the tourism sector and it is the how money is laundered here in the island.
