VVD wants to ban underprivileged Antilleans in the Netherlands
THE HAGUE – “Underprivileged Antilleans should be kept out of the Netherlands. This way we can avoid them being over-represented in the crime rates.”
This is according to the Dutch Member of Parliament for the VVD party, Andre Bosman.
The MP indicates that he sees the underprivileged Antilleans from Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten make the crossing to the Netherlands and they have no chance of making a decent living. Often they go into crime or request welfare, which puts more pressure on the government’s finances.
Because they belong to the Dutch Kingdom there are no obstacles in their way to Europe. Bosman wants a change in this. “A migrant must work, have enough income or have good education,” said Bosman to the Dutch media recently.
The MP is trying once again, after a failed attempt two years ago, to present his plan to the Dutch parliament for debate.
