What will happen with the government?
WILLEMSTAD - Last Friday, the government of Prime Minister Ben Whiteman lost its majority in parliament. Marilyn Moses of the PAIS party withdrew her support for the coalition.
She left the party and continues as an independent State member.
The parliament did not want to react to the situation last weekend, but it is already known that the opposition party PAR was approached to help continue with the coalition. Negotiations have been taking place during the weekend and the PAR is positive about the results.
Governor Lucille George-Wout indicated yesterday that the Prime Minister has until today 12 o’clock to report about what is going on with his government.
The expectation is that Prime Minister Whiteman will take steps to offer the resignation of this cabinet to give the parties time to rearrange the government and form a new coalition.
