Whiteman: “Actions BZV management is shame”

Dr. WhitemanWILLEMSTAD – The way in which the management of the Medical Services Agency (BZV) has acted for the past 2.5 years, is a disgrace. That is according to outgoing Minister Ben Whiteman of Health yesterday during the weekly press conference.

The agency knew that it had to reduce staff numbers and still took more workers. Moreover, the management increased the salaries of directors and executives were offered excessive severance payments, according to the Minister. On 10-10-10, when Ben Whiteman resigned as Secretary of the BZV and went to work as Inspector General of the Ministry of Health, the agency already knew that it would go into the Social Insurance Bank(SVB) and that staff numbers had to be reduced. According to Whiteman the then Minister of Health Jacintha Scoop-Constancia, under cabinet Schotte, sent nine people to BZV for employment reportedly for prevention reasons. Early 2013, the Bureau had a total of 34 people. Whiteman will do everything possible to hold the responsible person liable, even going to court.
