Wiels comes to Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – Minister Plenipotentiary Marvelyne Wiels will travel to Curaçao. The Minister hopes that she will get speaking time at the parliamentary meeting where MPs will discuss the devastating SOAB (Government Accountants Bureau) report on their findings in the Curaçao House in The Hague. According to the Minister Plenipotentiary, there is a conspiracy against her and the press is cooperating with the SOAB.
She also claims to have received the report only yesterday morning. This is remarkable because when Prime Minister Bernhard Whiteman released the report to parliament and to the public, Wiels’ comments were also added. These comments are from May 30. SOAB even indicated that they had sent the report to Wiels for her comments.
According to the Director of the SOAB, Geomaly Martis, the report was not deliberately leaked to the press. Also, it was not prepared with premeditation.
Martis responds to Wiels’ statements on the radio where she claimed that the SOAB has been trying to frame her.
It is still not clear when parliament will discuss the report.
