Wiels’ murder commemorated
WILLEMSTAD – Yesterday was the third anniversary of the murder of the political leader and former Member of Parliament Helmin Wiels. Wiels was shot at the Marie Pampoen beach.
To commemorate his death his party held a holy mass at the Steenrijk Catholic Church.
Prime Minister Dr. Bernhard Whiteman said that the perpetrators have slain the body of Wiels but not his ideas.
Former Minister of Justice Elmer Wilsoe said that the murder of the party leader hurts every day and that he realizes every day why he is part of PS.
In the church were about a hundred attendees including supporters of the party and Wiels’ family and friends.
