Wilsoe: “Rumors resignation Asjes incorrect”

WilsoeWILLEMSTAD – The Member of Parliament and one of the most influential persons in the ruling party Pueblo Soberano (PS), Elmer Wilsoe, categorically denied that Prime Minister Ivar Asjes, who is also of the same party, will resign this week.

This rumor has been spread all day yesterday on radio stations and also social media. According to Wilsoe everything is fine within the party. “This is normal. Of course, we do have differences of opinion, but that’s with all political parties and organizations,” Wilsoe said.

During the past three weeks, there has been some differences of opinion, especially between the Prime Minister and defacto leader of the party, Ivar Asjes and the PS faction leader in Parliament, Mac Cijntje and the other 4 MPs representing the party in Parliament. As it was reported, the 5 MPs have rejected a bill proposal on Sanctions Ordinance supported by the Prime Minister. Cijntje also heavily criticized the Prime Minister for firing an outspoken Civil Servant.

After these differences of opinion, which were heavily discussed in the media, many believed that Ivar Asjes will be set aside by his own party in favor of Helmin Wiels’ brother.

The leader of the coalition party PAIS, Alex Rosaria indicated that yesterday afternoon discussion took place between the leaders of the coalition parties, but there was no talks of resignation of the Prime Minister.
