Haitian president continues official visit to Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba (ACN) - Haiti’s President Michel Martelly continued to meet his official agenda in Cuba on Wednesday when he was scheduled to pay tribute to outstanding figures of Haitian history and attend the signing of several cooperation agreements.

The Haitian head of state, who is on a three-day official visit to the island, was due to lay wreaths to at the busts of Toussaint Louverture and Alexandre Petion at Havana’s African Heroes Park.

Martelly was also due to attend the signing of cooperation accords in the areas of health, agriculture and the environment.

The Haitian president will conclude his official agenda on Thursday following a meeting with the head of the National Civil Defense Staff, Division General Ramon Pardo Guerra.

On Tuesday, Martelly was officially received by Cuban President Raul Castro, and later the two heads of state held official talks.
