Minister Otmar Oduber signs economic AOC for Aruba Airlines
ORANJESTAD – On Friday morning, Minister Oduber received a delegation of the Aruba Airlines team.
During this encounter the Minister signed the economic AOC of this local company thus completing the first phase of the requirements for obtaining the right to operate. The first phase of the requirements entails complying with the financial and administrative aspects,
so that they can proceed to the next step to be able to meet all the criteria to obtain the permit to operate as a commercial airline and fly to different destinations from Aruba.
Among the Aruba Airlines delegation were members of the ILFC lease company. The ILFC Company will be leasing Aruba Airlines the A-320 aircrafts. ILFC is one of the leasing companies with the largest aircrafts in the world.
Also present at the meeting was representatives of Airbus, who have shown great interest in Aruba. They are here to make acquaintance with the Aruba Civil Aviation Department, with a view of possibly doing business with Aruba with respect to the registration of offshore aircrafts as well as with local companies.
As soon as Aruba Airlines complies with all the requierments they will be ready to start flying to destinations/cities for which Aruba has been looking for airlift. This will help comply with the Aruba governments’ vision to supply additional airlift to and from Aruba.
