PDVSA rejected taking of assets by ConocoPhillips

pdvsaCARACAS, WILLEMSTAD - The Venezuelan oil company reiterated its commitment to resolve the situation through legal channels.

The state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela S.A (PDVSA) said on Thursday that it rejects the takeover of its assets by the American company ConocoPhillips.

The Ministry of Petroleum reiterated, through a series of statements on its Twitter account, its commitment to resolve the situation through legal channels and making use of the appropriate mechanisms.

On April 25, the US oil company ConocoPhillips announced a triumph in an international tribunal against PDVSA, which should pay 2 billion dollars for the expropriation in 2007 of its assets in two oil fields.

"Petróleos de Venezuela reiterates its firm commitment to settle disputes through legal channels and peacefully, making use of the entities designated for such purposes," the statement said.
