Canadian Junior Golf Association Joins Forces with Blue Bay Curaçao in Marketing Partnership

Three Top CJGA Players to Compete in Curaçao Pro-Am in 2013

Richmond Hill, Ontario – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) reached an agreement with Blue Bay Curaçao and the MCB Curacao Invitational Pro-Am, striking a marketing partnership. Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort is home to the 7th annual MCB Invitational Pro-Am tournament on April 8-14, 2013, an event that brings together professionals and amateurs from around the world to compete in both an individual stroke play and team competition.
The partnership will also enable the CJGA to send the top three boys (aged 15-19) on the CJGA National Order of Merit to Curaçao to compete in the MCB Invitational Pro-Am. This once in a lifetime experience will provide the juniors with a chance to play golf in one of the most beautiful settings in the Caribbean while playing alongside top professionals from around the globe.
''We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with the CJGA” said Rogier van der Meer, Commercial Manager at Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort. “Together with the Curaçao Tourist Board we will show our Canadian visitors why Curaçao is the ideal destination for golf fans and, with new direct flights from Toronto and Miami, easier than ever to get to,” he added. “One of the main goals of the annual MCB Curaçao Invitational Pro-Am Golf Tournament is to promote the game of golf among youngsters and the partnership with the CJGA is a great vehicle to support that goal.”
In additional to the marketing partnership with Blue Bay Curaçao, the CJGA has joined forces with Canadian professional golfer Danny Sahl (PGA Tour Canada member) that will see the creation of a series of tips and seminars hosted by Sahl himself.  The program will span the course of the 2013 season and will be available exclusively for CJGA members.
“The CJGA is delighted to partner with Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort and the MCB Invitational Pro-Am tournament” said Brad Parkins, Chief Operations Officer with the Canadian Junior Golf Association. “We are even more thrilled to once again work with a true professional, Danny Sahl.  The juniors will greatly benefit from his experience to assist in their development, on and off the golf course.”
Sahl, a member of PGA Tour Canada (formerly the Canadian Tour) since 2005, will make his second appearance at the MCB Invitational Pro-Am in Curaçao after attending in 2012 for the first time.
“The MCB Invitational Pro-Am is a fantastic event to be part of,” said Sahl. “For the juniors this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and thanks to the partnership between the CJGA and Blue Bay Curaçao, it promises to be an experience they will never forget.”
