CPA’s traditional end of year networking happy hour
WILLEMSTAD - CPA held its traditional end of year port networking happy hour yesterday at Mathey Wharf. The management of CPA made use of the opportunity to share the latest sector developments to the port operators and other stakeholders that were present.
One of the main objectives of the Curaçao Ports Authority is the development of properties surrounding the harbors as well as the maritime sectors to attract economic activity to our Island. This is often a joint endeavor between the port authority, operators, investors and other stakeholders. We want to yearly acknowledge and shed a spotlight on companies that, for example, expand their harbor business by attracting new investors.
This has led the Curacao Ports Authority to introduce an annual achievement award that will be presented to those companies or persons that significantly contributed to the development of our port.
We were delighted to present Mr. Charly van de Sande of NEDEREX with the first Annual Achievement Award. Mr. Paul Noordhoek of Nederex was also acknowledged for his contribution during this process. Nederex partnered with DAMEN earlier this year to sign a lease and concession agreement with CPA to establish a floating dock for maintenance and repairs for Damen customers in the region. In addition to attracting foreign investment this project will also create jobs and increase maritime traffic in the port.
