Curaçao Film Institute brings Hollywood to Curaçao

actingWILLEMSTAD - Following on a successful launch event and conference held in October 2015, Curaçao Film Institute is proud to announce the commencement of the Hollywood-based Relativity Education Certification Programs on Curaçao. The workshops are aimed at the further professionalization of the local workforce by providing attendees with essential skills necessary for employment on professional (international) film and television production sets. Curaçao Film Institute views the existence of a well-trained local employment pool as an important factor in the promotion of Curaçao as a regional hub for media production.
The workshops in this cycle will be given by instructors from Hollywood who are active in the business and will cover the disciplines Grip & Electric and On Location Production Coordinating. A general introduction for both groups regarding safety and on-set etiquette will be given on March 17th and 18th (6:00pm to 9:00pm). The subsequent separate workshops will be held on the 3 following weekends (9:00am to 5:00pm). All classroom education will take place at the International School of Curaçao. Each participant successfully completing the 54 hour instruction requirement will received a Certificate from Relativity Education. The workshops will be offered for a nominal administrative fee (NAF 100) to Curaçao residents whom have interest or experience in working in film and television production. The workshops are made possible in part due to a generous contribution from the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund Caribbean Territories.
Space is limited to 15 participants per workshop. Application for the selection process for admission is open to all residents of Curaçao 18 years of age or older. The application process will close on February 19, 2016. Further information concerning dates, times and application procedures can be found at
