Endless Summer Sports Festival: 8 sports
WILLEMSTAD – The yearly Endless Summer Sports Festival takes place again at the St. Jorisbay, the first weekend of August. This event is organized by the Oldschool Windsurfers to support the Fundashon St. Jorisbay. This foundation aims at children who can exchange good school results for, amongst other things, free surfing lessons.
The foundations’ chairman, Ed de Groot proudly announces that there will be no less than 8 sports during the event! “The past years have been very successful and it means a lot that for example Beachtennis and SUP will be joining us again this year. It provides for extra ambiance to the event. On Saturday, right after the price ceremony there will be live music during the party night.” Eventually it is all about the sports, stresses Ed de Groot. “The event grows yearly and we are proud of everybody who make this event possible, it is a very important weekend for the foundation.’
The event originated from the idea that the St. Jorisbay is the home for people who are active in the great nature of Curacao. The disciplines; windsurfing, kitesurfing, mountainbiking, walking, running, fishing, SUP and beachtennis are all sports that can be practiced in the surroundings of the St. Jorisbay. People from different cultures and sports backgrounds come together to enjoy their joint passion for nature and watersports.
The program will be announced this week and the online registration has already been opened. The event hosts a registration evening at L’Aldea on Thursday August 4th, where participants can register personally and receive their T-shirt.
Besides the sport activities, the audience was thought of too. The Windsurfing Village will be transformed into an event center, which provides shadow, a snack truck, Polar Bar, a donut stand and fantastic (live) music. On August 5, 6 and 7, all sport and nature lovers can join at the bay for this fantastic festival!
