Half mast flag for Prince Friso

Half mastWILLEMSTAD – On several government buildings in Curacao, both the Dutch and the Curacao flag were hoisted half-mast because of the death of Prince Friso on Monday, August 12, 2013. Compassion is also expressed in this way.

In the coming days a flag instruction will be given from the Netherlands. Until then it is quite natural for everyone and also for entities to lower the flag at half-mast.

When a flag is at half mast, it must be first fully raised, then the flag is slowly and respectfully lowered to half of the flagpole, then the node is placed. When the flag is brought in it must be raised with all due respect and then lowered in the same manner. The flag may be at half mast from sunrise to sunset. If the flag is not lowered then it must be well lit.
