Harvest Festival ‘Seú’ in danger

SeuWILLEMSTAD - The continuation of the folkloric harvest festival ‘Seú’ is in danger. That says former chairman Pacheco Domacassé. The current board of the harvest festival is at odds with each other.

The organization also wants to clean up the finances, so people with less income no longer receive a subsidy to contribute to the expenses of participating in the parade. According to the former chairman, this is a bomb under the harvest festival and it could mean the end of everything.

This is the culture of Curaçao. The harvest festival originates with the Africans who were brought to the island to work on the plantations. The festival must continue and should remain affordable for everyone.
