International Day Of The Woman Event

HabaaiWILLEMSTAD -- This year the American Women's Club of Curaçao will be celebrating the creativity of the women of Curaçao with a special coffee/tea event at Gallery Alma Blou in Landhuis Habaai on Friday morning the 8th of March which is International Day of the Woman 2013.

The women in creativity of Curaçao include all the arts but this year the main focus was the visual arts. Within that field are a wide range of professional and creative women enhancing the quality of life for all. They include art teachers, graphic designers, fine artists and craft artisans along with those who support and work in the arts like gallery owners, art centers and museums that represent art. It is a large and diverse world and women hold many positions within this field. It will be a day to say thanks to them all.

We will also be honoring one of them for outstanding achievements in the creative world. The Board of the American Women's Club wants to recognize and draw attention to this important group of professional women who sometime go overlooked in the dynamic projects and programs that they bring to the island of Curaçao. It is their role to enhance and preserve the visual cultural legacy of the island. They also have an important role in communicating the image of all Curaçao is and can be to the world. They provide the youth of Curacao opportunities to develop their creative and innovative minds either via classes they teach or events and exhibitions they organize.

So come and learn who earns the honor of representing this dynamic group of Curaçao women for 2013.
