JCI United Citizens of Curaçao recognized during award ceremony

2015 JCI DC National Convention

JCI United Citizens of CuracaoWILLEMSTAD – On Saturday October 17th, numerous JCI members, senators, and guests including key stakeholders in the community joined together for the closing ceremony of 2015 JCI Dutch Caribbean National Convention at the Hilton Curaçao.

The 2015 National Convention is an annual event hosted by a local organization of JCI Dutch Caribbean which consists of JCI Aruba, JCI YALA, JCI IOBA, JCI CLIC, JIC UC, and JCI St. Maarten. This year JCI IOBA Curaçao was honored to organize this three-day event. Without any doubt they made sure an outstanding leadership development program was prepared. The program outline included among others debating and speaking competitions, leadership trainings, and election of 2016 JCI Dutch Caribbean Board of Directors. The main objective of the event is to provide valuable information, through hard work in finding a solution to achieve set goals in order to take concrete actions to have a long-term success and of course to celebrate 100 years of the JCI movement.

JCI United Citizens of Curaçao (JCI UC) was also among the different JCI local organizations who attended the 2015 National Convention. JCI UC consists of young and dynamic members who are determined to work for the betterment of our community. JCI UC has shown an immense growth over the last two years. It is remarkable that the organization has not only grown by the number of members but has even better developed the quality of performance, especially in the execution of their projects.

Hence, JCI UC is truly grateful for the many awards received during the award ceremony last Saturday. The organization received a total of six awards including: (1) Most outstanding local organization, (2) 100% Efficiency Program, (3) Best Local Community Empowerment Program (The Golden Voice of Tourism Youth Congress in collaboration with Curacao Tourist Board), (4) Best Long-term Local Community Empowerment Program (Manera Mi Bos No Tin Dos in collaboration with Fundashon KPEK, Biblioteka Nashonal Kòrsou, and Toastmasters International), (5) Most Outstanding NEW Member (Naesha Zunder), (6) Most Outstanding Local President (Silvetty de la Paz).

JCI UC wants to thank all of its key stakeholders, collaborators, members, senators, guests and all whom are associated with organization. Last but not least a BIG thank you goes out to the community who has shown their support by participating at the many projects, events, etc. organized over the past year.
