Sport and ultimate fun with the SLEEVES during the ESSF
WILLEMSTAD - This August 7, 8 and 9 the St. Jorisbaai once again will be the centre of fun outdoor sports and the best music from the island during the Endless Summer Sports Festival. The complete weekend will be filled with various sport competitions combined with a relaxed beach atmosphere.
As a visitor you can get something to eat at the Snack tent or a drink at the Polar bar during the day. The event does not fall short on musical conviviality! During the days there will be various known local DJ’s who will bring their music to the festival and during the spectacular Saturday night, right after the first price ceremony, you can even enjoy two fantastic bands from Curacao: Caribbean Courage and the Sleeves. Eric Jan van Leeuwen, Sleeves’ lead singer says, “The Sleeves stands for pure positivity, that is the reason why we love to participate in this unique event. The Oldschoolers’ vibe has positivity and we feel honoured to be invited to do ‘our thing’ together with all the visitors!”
“We do everything we can to make sure the festival is a great day out! There will be plenty to do for the participants and also if you are not taking part in any of the sports, you can enjoy yourself perfectly during the event!” According to Martijn Mouthaan, who organises the ESSF together with Ed de Groot. “The organisation, which completely consists of volunteers, is making sure there will be clear directions, parking security and of course a full entertainment program for every visitor. The atmosphere at the Oldschool Windsurf beach guarantees a fun day. We are very enthusiastic about the two bands who will be taking care of the evening program!” Martijn continues.
The festivals’ Saturday starts with a fishing competition, organized by the Yacht club and Polar, from 8 AM – 1 PM. At the same time in the morning there will be windsurf races. Around lunchtime the water will be cleared for the SUP Race and the Kite surfers. From 2 PM it will really become spectacular when the wind and kite surf freestyle competition kicks off. The visitors can be amazed about the jumps on the water. There are even a couple of professionals who will make sure that the audience won’t be able to sit still.
Get on the water yourself? In the afternoon it is possible to go SUPping, wakeboarding or fly boarding. After that you will leave the water satisfied to get a drink and listen to the live music. You cannot miss the Endless Summer Sports weekend! The proceedings of the event are entirely dedicated to the Fundashon St. Jorisbaai.
