TEDx Curaçao final three speakers for the upcoming event

TEDx final speakersWILLEMSTAD - With only two days left until the TEDxCuraçao 2016 conference, the team is putting the finishing touches on what promises to be an awe-inspiring day – and they are proud to now reveal the final line-up of confirmed speakers for TEDxCuraçao 2016 and details for the after party.

TEDx Curaçao will take place on March 12, 2016 at District 1850 in collaboration with The Movies hosting a great range of talks around the theme of ‘Bridging the Gap’. Make sure you don’t miss out on hearing these inspiring talks.

With that, the team of TEDxCuraçao 2016 is honored to present the final three speakers for TEDxCuraçao 2016:

  • Michael Lampe is an independent producer, composer & DJ. He performs under various aliases such as Datapanik & FELLOW through which he is mostly known for bridging the gap between the music of his caribbean heritage and today’s electronic music. In his talk he spans the creative space between vision & reality, Sound & Silence and how it bridges the present with the future.
  • Ellen Bokkinga is an idea developer, writer and founder of The New Verbalizers. She has been involved in concept developing in a range of different industries, from governmental organizations to large Dutch corporations to young start-ups. Ellen will share with us the power and the effects of Speculative Thinking by highlighting some international examples and by putting one of our own well known treasures in a different perspective. Ellen believes we should use our imagination to turn our dreams and ideas into feasible plans. She provides tools and insights to help her clients and projects to achieve a more feasible version of the idea in their head.
  • El Sawyer is a filmmaker and social justice activist. At the age of seventeen he was sentenced to 8-20 years in maximum security prison in the United States and was released after 8 years at the age of 25. During this time he seized an unlikely opportunity to be trained in film production. El is the Co-Founder of Media In Neighborhoods Group (MING), a socially conscious film company whose mission is to use the power of media to change the culture of crime. Having won numerous awards for his work in film and community activism, he speaks nationally on the challenges of re-entry, and about the environments from which prisoners come, and eventually return back to.

After an exciting evening of talks at TEDxCuraçao 2016, there will be a night to remember Afterparty at Oliver (District 1850) hosted by Digicel Business and KLM. Not only will you get the chance to connect with all of our fantastic speakers, performers, partners and delegates, you’ll also get to experience a vibrant night of music by the one and only FELLOW (Michael Lampe) and participate in the raffle to win an iPhone6 or a free ticket for the next TEDxAruba including a roundtrip from Curaçao to Aruba.
